15 week Appointment

Today Skylar and I went in for our 15 week check up. We were able to hear the babies heart beat -- it's amazing every time. The babies heart beat was 159. Our little one didn't want to cooperate very much today. Every time the doctor would find his/her little heart beat all of a sudden it was gone. Our little one kept running away. I guess he/she didn't want mommy and daddy to hear how well it was doing. :) We found out today that we're going to be able to find out what we're having before we leave Alaska. I can't believe how quickly that went by. Within the next 3-4 weeks we'll know if we're having a little boy or a little girl!! Our appointment will be revolving around the Army and when Skylar will be home. Next week he leaves to go out to the field for a 16 day exercise.. I am definitely not looking forward to this one. This will be the longest time he's been gone at one time. The days always seem a lot longer when I'm alone here in Alaska, but thankfully we'll be leaving here soon and able to spend lots of family time together! :) We're shooting for November 13 to start heading to Michigan, but once again -- anything can change with the Army. Can't wait to update with more pictures and good news here soon!

14 weeks

Ultrasound

I went in this morning for a follow up appointment to make sure everything was alright with the baby. We had a few issues over the weekend but to my relief everything is perfectly fine and the baby is doing great. The doctor was very kind in giving me an ultrasound just so I could see for myself that the baby was healthy and doing fine. I had been a little freaked out all weekend, needless to say. It was so amazing to see my baby for the first time. He/She is absolutely perfect already and I love him/her with absolutely everything in me. Baby had the hiccups. It was so cute to see him/her jetting up and down with every hiccup. I'm really sad Skylar wasn't able to be there to see our baby for the first time, but thankfully the nurse printed out some pictures for me. I apologize for the pictures ahead of time. I don't know how to scan them onto the computer so I had to take a picture of the pictures. Enjoy!! :)

Exciting Firsts

Today was the day! :) Skylar and I went to our first appointment today. We were able to hear the babies heart beat but unfortunately no pictures. I couldn't believe it. When that heart beat came through and filled the room, it was breath taking. That's our baby we were hearing. Wow is all I can say. The heart beat was 170, that was another shocker. Skylar decided that baby is doing PT in my belly to have a heart beat that fast, haha.
The appointment is not the only exciting thing going on in our lives right now, we are slowly preparing for the babies arrival. We bought our very first brand new mommy car, 2010 Ford Focus. I love it, it is perfect for me and is the perfect car for kids. As well as the car we bought our first pack of diapers the other day. We're hoping if we start buying diapers every time we go shopping it won't be such a shocker once the baby comes.
I am 12 weeks along as of now and I have been feeling great. At first I was a little worried about the fact that I have been having no symptoms at all but I am now feeling very lucky and grateful to be having such a great pregnancy as of now. Our next appointment is set up for 4 weeks from now, can't wait to update with more fun and exciting news!! :)
